Stolen vehicle, pursuit, 18 yr old arrested, Lansdowne/Inkster area

STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST R10-71189
Between August 23rd and August 24th, a vehicle was stolen from the area of the 300 block of Templeton Avenue.
 
On August 25th at approximately 3:45 a.m., two male suspects were occupying the stolen vehicle in the area of the 300 block of Sackville Street when they proceeded to steal a second vehicle. The suspects fled the area in both stolen vehicles. 
 
At approximately 4:00 a.m., patrolling Uniform members observed one of the stolen vehicles and occupant in the area of Logan Avenue and Quelch Street. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over in a safe manner at which time the suspect driver fled the area at a high rate of speed having no regard for public safety. A pursuit ensued after which time the stolen vehicle was located abandoned in the area of Lansdowne Avenue and Inkster Boulevard. The suspect fled on foot and was subsequently pursued by officers, including members of the Canine Unit.
 
The suspect was located at a residence in the area and placed under arrest. An 18 year old male has been charged with the following offences: Theft over $5000.00, Theft under $5000.00, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from police officer and Drive while disqualified.
 
On August 26th, at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers encountered the second stolen vehicle in the area of McGregor Street and Selkirk Avenue. A tire deflation device was deployed and the suspect vehicle fled the area. The vehicle was later located abandoned in the area of Spence Street, south of Sargent Avenue.   
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Stolen Auto Unit.
