The Service is excited to announce that we are currently undergoing many changes which include a strong articulation of our new Vision, Mission and Values.
As such, it has been over 20 years since the Winnipeg Police Service implemented the current graphic design of the white cruiser cars with blue stripes. It became an opportune time to look at rebranding the visual aspect of our Service, mainly, the front-line cruiser cars, which is a component that the citizens of Winnipeg see each and every day.
These new designs and graphics on our cruiser cars were recently voted on by members of the Police Service, and we are excited to unveil the result here today.
As you will note, the most important improvements on the new cruiser car designs are the larger and bolder graphics that have been applied, making these vehicles much more reflective and identifiable.
The enhanced visibility of the new cruiser cars will ultimately increase officer safety when responding to emergency calls, as well as assisting the Service in creating a greater awareness of police vehicles in neighbourhoods throughout the City.
The Police Service would also like to remind the public that both designs will continue to be seen on the streets over the next few years, as our new cruiser cars are phased into the current fleet through attrition.
By moving forth with this visual rebranding of the Winnipeg Police Service’s cruiser cars, it will enable the Service to continue to enhance our professional image for many more years.
