No More Stolen Sisters Human Bill Board Project

No More Stolen Sisters Human Billboard Project
WHAT DO YOU WANT WINNIPEGGERS TO KNOW ABOUT
MISSING AND MURDERED ABORIGINAL WOMEN?
As part of ‘Showing Up, Speaking Out’, Stop Violence Against Aboriginal
Women Action Group (SVAAWAG), in collaboration with artist Leah Decter and
with the support of Amnesty International are undertaking a public action
project. Through this initiative we aim to generate public awareness on the
issue of violence against Aboriginal women and stimulate individual action
that impacts this issue.

How can you get involved?
 Tell us what you think Winnipeggers should know about this
issue. Contribute your statement via email a:
nomorestolensisters@mts.net, or join us at one of our public gatherings.

 Help plan details of the project at public meetings at Aceart Gallery.
This includes determining locations for interventions, choosing statements
for different aspects of the interventions, and generating additional
activities. (please see website listed below for details)

 Volunteer to participate in the public interventions. Please come to
one of our public meetings at Ace or contact us at:
nomorestolensisters@mts.net if you are interested in participating in the
action.

 Spread the word!
SVAWAAG is a grass roots volunteer collective made up of Aboriginal and
non-Aboriginal women working to address the disproportionate level of
violence against Aboriginal women and girls.
Showing Up, Speaking Out is a project of artists working with community
members to develop performance-based interventions about issues that
matter to civic life.
