Templeton/McPhillips Pedestrian Fatality July 15, 10 - Charges

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION- ARREST

On July 15th, 2010, the Winnipeg Police Service had released information regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that had occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m.
The investigation has revealed that the 46 year old female pedestrian was walking westbound on Templeton Avenue and was within the pedestrian crossing area. As she crossed the street, she was struck by a vehicle that had been travelling westbound on Templeton Avenue, making a left turn onto southbound McPhillips Street. 
As a result of an investigation by members of the Central Traffic Unit, a 41 year old female has been released on a Promise to Appear and has been charged with;
- Criminal Negligence Causing Death.

FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION- UPDATE   C10-158151
The Winnipeg Police Service had released information earlier today regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that had occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m.
 
The investigation has revealed that the 46 year old female pedestrian was walking westbound on Templeton Avenue and was within the pedestrian crossing area. As she crossed the McPhillips Street, she was struck by a vehicle that had been travelling westbound on Templeton Avenue, making a left turn onto southbound McPhillips Street. 
 
Investigators have learned that there may have been a gold coloured car in the intersection just prior to the collision occurring and are requesting that this driver contact the police.
 
As well, if there are any other witnesses that have not yet spoken with officers, the Winnipeg Police Service is requesting that they contact the Central Traffic Unit at 986-6271.
